A nonexhaustive list of all the software that I use on a regular basis
Music Software
- Bitwig Studio - probably the most slept on DAW for sound design and electronic music production. There isn’t really one standout thing that Bitwig does that made me switch DAWs, rather a handful of QoL and sound-design focused stuff that just made sense.
- Ableton Live - everybody’s favorite namestay DAW for anything you can imagine. I think the sound design potential in Ableton is only rivaled by Bitwig (given ex-Ableton developers built Bitwig), and it is a great tool for anyone to learn when they want to get started in writing music.
- Logic Pro - Nostalgia points for the first music program that I picked up. Great stock array of tools and sounds for the price, and will constantly blow me away in the quality of their analog emulations and completeless as a piece of music software. You get everything you’d need at a fraction of the price of ProTools or Ableton.
